My scholarship is focused on the public aspects of emerging technologies. I explore the relationships between innovative tech, its political economy, and democratic principles and institutions. I am interested in exploring both sides of the algorithm: How to regulate emerging technologies and how emerging technologies regulate us. I explore how data-driven technologies challenge and transform legal and political organizing principles; Which infrastructures canen sure just, secure, inclusive, and democratic digital ecosystems; and how novel technologies can help to materialize and support democratic principles in new and innovative ways. A unique combination of legal and political theory expertise and extensive research collaborations with computer scientists enable my research to frame new questions and develop frameworks at the forefront of technological and ethical innovation. My articles were published in leading journals and appeared in various syllabi at top-tier universities. Additionally, I have developed innovative courses with novel teaching methodologies in the emerging field of Computer Science and Ethics.
